Azienda Agricola Pascale
Wineries in BasilicataWinery of Basilicata, Pascale is located in the Vulture, area of production of the famous Aglianico, one of Italian wines by the most ancient tradition. Pascale produces solely the red wine Ripa Alta, an excellent Aglianico del Vulture, intense and very fruity, made with selected grapes.
The winery
The winery Pascale is located in Basilicata, at Acerenza, a small village in the hills northeast of Potenza, in the heart of the production area of Aglianico del Vulture DOC, one of the red wines that best represent the wine culture of Southern Italian mainland.
The Winery Pascale, for four generations, has been producing wines with that passion and dedication typical of a deep culture of fine wine. The six hectares of vineyard, perched on a hill at 400 mt, are cultivated exclusively with Aglianico, variety already cultivated by the Greeks almost three thousand years ago, in this area, that, not by chance, was called Enotria, or land of wine, for its extraordinary attitude to the cultivation of the vine.
In fact, in this area, a unique terroir, madeof volcanic soils, and a very favorable microclimate, accompanied by a particularly attentive care and, above all, a great passion, allow Aglianico grapes to become an extraordinary wine, which has now taken its place of honor among the best Italian wines, appreciated and recognized globally.
Ripa Alta Aglianico del Vulture DOC
The Ripa Alta is produced with Aglianico grapes only, skillfully cultivated by the winery Pascale, with particular attention to the quality and concentration, with very yields low (only 55 q/ha) and very small annual production.
Fine wine, the Ripa Alta is soft and elegant, yet strong, given the high alcohol content and structure of tannins, very present, but never too aggressive.
