The Malaspina Winery is located in the extreme southern tip of Calabria, in the locality of Melito di Porto San Salvo in the province of Reggio Calabria.
Vineyards, 700 meters above sea level, are located on hills that offer ideal conditions to give us high quality wines. The vines are grown on trellises or as small trees, and their density hardly reaches 6,000 plants per hectare, a sign of exceptional quality of grapes produced.
The Winery Malaspina, since 1967, produces the typical wines of Calabria, with a focus on quality: the grapes are carefully selected, the wine is careful to maintain all the characteristics of raw materials and the aging and maturing is designed to give the wine great elegance, a strong character and a great personality.
The wines are produced from grapes from both Calabrian native grapes and national or international varieties: whites are, in fact, produced with grapes of Guarnaccia, Ansonica and Greco di Bianco, while red and rosé wines are made from grapes Gaglioppo, Nerello, Nocera, Castiglione, Calabrese Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
