The winery Barbolini is located in Casinalbo in a beautiful foothills area, not far from Modena. The manor house, a symbol of the winery, was built in Art Nouveau-style in the late nineteenth century on an existing construction built, as the entire village that surrounds it, between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth . One of those buildings, now completely renovated, is home of the vinegar factory of the family. In a small square building lies the tasting room. The cellar for the production of wine has been recently renovated and equipped for the modern wine-making and is able to cover the'full cycle from the grape harvest to bottling. The village and the cellar are surrounded by vineyards.

The passion for wine is manifested particularly in the great care in the vineyards, as they follow closely the maturation of the grapes in the vineyard and in the reduction in yield per hectare by adpting modern growing techniques. All these factors have in common an increase in the quality of grapes produced, which is an essential basis for obtaining an excellent wine.

The wines produced are of various kinds: whites, all sparkling, are made from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, while the reds are mostly a selection of Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC, one of the best in Emilia Romagna.

Since Barbolini winery is a Modena-based company, they couldn't miss the production of traditional balsamic vinegar DOP obtained by the fermentation and acidification of the must of Trebbiano Modenese, cooked over direct heat, without the addition of other substances and aged for at least 12 years.
