The winery Abraxas is an artisan wine producer of Pantelleria. The high quality distinguishes their wine production.
Today the company covers 26 h. of land planted with vines, with a production of 80,000 bottles of wine.
The winery Abraxas srl produces 7 different wines: three red wines made with grapes of Nero d'Avola, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Grenache, two white wines from Viognier and Zibibbo and two very interesting dessert wines made with Zibibbo. Certainly the production peak is related to the natural dryed wine made from grapes Zibibbo alone, without artifice and without human intervention that would alter the path marked by tradition and history of Pantelleria.
The Zibibbo grapes, matureat the right point, are collected and displayed on wooden trellises according to ancient custom, in order to dry naturally in the sun rays, that here in August and September is still hot and strong everyday. Once reached the right sugar content, the grapes are pressed and macerated. The Passito Abraxas, warm and sweet, retains all the characteristics of the ripe fruit and gives us sensations that only the great land of Pantelleria can give us.
