The winery of Umbria Decugnano dei Barbi is located in Fossatello, a few kilometers from the city of Orvieto.

Decugano dei Barbi is perhaps one of the most famous wineries of Umbria, and, although it is in the area of production of the famous Orvieto Classico DOC, produces Umbria IGT wines: a clear choice of business, this, that by no means indicates poor quality wines; in fact, not being subject to the severe limitations of the specification for the DOC, allows the winery Decugnano dei Barbi to produce unique wines and unrepeatable.

Winery pays particular attention to innovation, while respecting the traditions, and is open to experimenting with new clones, nine breeding techniques and new varieties. The major research activities carried out by Decugnano dei Barbi has allowed the company to be one of the first to produce red wines of high level, in an area, the Orvieto Classico DOC, which has always been suited to the production of white wines.

The company produces two whites, three reds, a muffato and a spumante brut: among the white wines, made from a blend of Grechetto, Vermentino and Chardonnay, we point out the decugnano Bianco "IL" elegant and fruity wine, with a short passage in barriques; among the red wines, produced with Sangiovese, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, to be reported is the pure Pinot Noir, aged for six months in barrels placed in natural caves; the Muffato Pourriture Noble, elegantly fruity, with hints of exotic fruits, almonds and honey, is produced with grapes Sauvignon and Grechetto; the traditional method sparkling wine, Chardonnay, Verdello and Procanico, finally, is a wonderful example of elegant wine for an aperitif or to marry your best fish dishes.
