Wineries in UmbriaThe winery Palazzone is located in the heart of Orvieto Classico DOC. This winery of Umbria produces excellent Orvieto Classico Superiore wines like the Terre and the Campo del Guardiano, but also white and red wines made from local and international grapes.

The history of Umbrian winery Palazzone, began in 1969 when Angelo Dubinii and his wife Maria Locatell bought the estate, at that time almost abandoned it and started its restructuring.
The vineyards, stretching over about 25 hectares, have been planted on the hills of Rocca Ripenesa, in soils of sedimentary and clay origin. It is under the guide of the sons, Lodovico and Giovanni, that began the production of wines: from the first harvest of 82, in fact, through the first small winemaking and bottling, the winery Palazzone has acquired the necessary experience to get in 1988, also, through the construction of a new vinification cellar, to exploit the entire production of vineyards.
The heart and vital center of this winery of Umbria is the historic building called the, in fact, "The Palazzone", built by the Cardinal Theodoric during the first Jubilee of 1300, as a hostel for pilgrims and travelers to Rome. Today, thanks to a wise and careful restoration, the building has been converted into a delightful inn.
The winery Palazzone produces several wines typical of the umbrian area: two Orvieto Classico Superiore DOC, Terre Vineate and Campo del Guardiano, aged for two years in the caves of tufa, and Umbria IGT wines, made from grapes Grechetto or Vignier (Aged in oak barrels), Cabernet and Sangiovese. Also worthy of note, is the Muffa Nobilis, a splendid sweet wine produced with Sauvignon grapes.
