Overview Les Crêtes winery was founded in 1989, in Aymavilles (Valle d'Aosta), through the work of Constantine Charriere and is now run by his family, owners of a historic water mill, dated since 1700, and of the ancient cellars of Via Moulins. The family deals five generations of agricultural food production. The area of cultivation of vineyards stretches for 25 acres along the bank of the Dora Baltea in the areas of Saint Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aosta and Saint Christophe. The area of production, which originated in the difficult mountain region, is characterized by high fragmentation of the vineyards and high planting density (8.000-9.000 plants / Ha) due to the slope of the land, whose moraine and sandy soils, are ideal environment for the cultivation of several varieties native and international grapes. The alpine climate strongly influences the organoleptic characteristics of the local wines: The grapes, harvested late, under intense temperature changes caused by thermal excursion during autumn (32° F during the day and 68° F during the night). This phenomenon, that is typical of upland areas, favors the formation of aromatic precursors in the cluster, which considerably enhances the flavor component of wine.
Agricultural management of vineyards, based on respect for the environment, along with the enhancement of "terroir", are the focal point of a corporate philosophy that sees combined traditional cultivation methods, passion for innovation and technological research. In line with the European satellite industry, provides a limited use of pesticides. Annual production is around 230.000 bottles. Vineyards spread in the area "Les Crêtes" Aymavilles, where the scenic hillside of Coteau la Tour offers its medieval tower inhabited until the last century by a hermit of the village and now a symbol of the company. It is clearly visible to the left of the exit of the toll Aosta west, coming from Turin. The winery has a tasting room and ample parking and is located in a panoramic site, 1 km from the exit of the highway for the West Aosta Mont Blanc. Wines

Varieties grown are both native (Petit Rouge, Fumin, Petite Arvine, Gros Rouge, Cornalin, Mayolet, pressed) and international (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah). Business is targeted at manufacturing production line, where interventions are performed with the utmost attention and care, in the constant quest for quality.
